MARA KOTOBUKI (aka Mara-chan)
- Mara is a cute blonde girl who always
wears a big red bow in her hair. She's nearly obsessed with
anime and cosplaying and tries to go to every local convention.
She loves to sew and cook, but her cooking skills leave quite a bit to
be desired. She's also a bit of a geek, being a fan of science
fiction and gadgets, but she has the same luck with gadgets as she
does with cooking. She's also a huge fan of video games of all
types. Her sister is Bunny. First appearance:
"The
Beginning", duh. |

 |
BUNNY KOTOBUKI
- Bunny is Mara's adopted sister. She
used to be a real rabbit, but after an accident she became human...
mostly human. She still retains the bunny ears and tail, but has
shoulder-length pink hair. She loves to cosplay too, but she's
more into it for the sexy clothes than the competition. She
likes video games too, but prefers more of the action games like the
Zelda series or Grand Theft Auto. Bunny's
boyfriend is Kyle and she's completely devoted to him. She'd
also do anything for her sister Mara. She's also been seen since
"The
Beginning" |

KYLE
- Kyle's an athletic young man with blonde
hair. One day at school he was glomped by a strange girl with
bunny ears. Soon after they were dating and he's never been
happier. Kyle doesn't get the whole cosplay thing, but he does
enjoy watching anime and playing video games. He doesn't have
much to do in the comic... yet. He was in
"The
Beginning" |

HELENA
- Helena is a classmate of Mara and Bunny.
She has long light-brown hair she usually wears up with chopsticks.
She cosplays, but doesn't put as much energy into it as her friends so
tends not to hang out with them as much.
She's based on Dottie's real life friend by the same name. She's
been around since
"Making
Friends at Lunch" |
|
 |
JADE
- Jade is the girls' classmate from China.
She usually wears her hair in pigtails, but when a convention comes
around, she tends to dress in boy's costumes and hide the hair under
wigs of various colors. Bunny thinks Jade is quite cute as a
boy, and so Jade's been trying to avoid her. She's also based on
a real life person, a friend of Joe's. Jade's been around since
"Making
Friends at Lunch" |

DOTTIE
- In the comic, Dottie has so far appeared
as a judge at SuperDuperMegaUltracon, the guide to cons and Pocky and
a few other Omakes. In real life she's the
wonderful artist and co-writer for this comic. The things on her
head are Moogle ears from Final Fantasy. She's also Joe's fiance.
She was first seen in the Omake
"And Now a
Word from Our Authors" |

 |
JOE
- So far Joe's appeared as a very
tired judge at SuperDuperMegaUltracon and the host for the guide to
cons. He also has a real life
(of sorts) as the writer and web-designer for this comic, not to
mention as Dottie's fiance. He's wearing a Dejiko hat (from DI
Gi Charat). He came into the comic with
"And Now a
Word from Our Authors" |

FANBOY
- The Fanboy is just that... a fanboy who
followed Bunny home one day after a convention. Bunny tried to
keep him as a pet, but was forced to set him free in the local EB
Games. Since then he hangs out with the girls whenever he can,
but they barely even notice he's around. He's first seen in
"Back to
School" |

Mara's Mom
- She's American, blonde, and a bad cook, but beyond that, little is
known about Mara's mom. She was (is?) married to Mara's Dad, but
for some reason they moved apart. She's first mentioned in
"The End of a
Long Day" |

Mara's Dad
- We haven't met Mara's dad... yet. All we know is that he lives
in Japan and apparently left his family to persue his career.
He's first mentioned in
"Mail Call" |
 |
NINA
- Mara's Rival. She's not exactly
evil, she just REALLY gets on Mara's nerves. Nina's the kind of
girl who was always just a little better than you and let you know it,
and that pisses Mara off to no end. She seems a little stuck up,
but that could just be because she's a cheerleader. Her first
talking part was in
"A Rival?"
but she was actually one of the Yunas in
"Prejudging" |
